About My Blogs

The biggest problem with writing a serial blog is repeating yourself.  Sometimes you come up with a new idea to write about and you do.  Later you are informed by someone who actually reads your stuff that it sounds like another blog you wrote. Most times I catch it myself.  Actually, forgetting what you wrote previously can be a blessing. You can go back and read the old blog and compare. The few times it has happened, I have been proud that I have been pretty consistent.

When knowingly writing about the same subject again, you can't help but repeat yourself to lead up to introducing one new thought or idea to an subject. Then, repetition is okay. The way my blogs work, I don't usually go back to change them, except for misspellings or misquoted facts and stuff like that there. It's not like a book where you might do many rewrites to get it right. I just wing it. I can't afford therapy and I'm non-violent so I can't break stuff or hurt anyone to relieve pent up tension.

I've written close to 150 blogs now. I have tried not to be too critical of myself because nothing would be good enough. I just keep on writing. The bad part is that I have probably forgotten more ideas than I have written about. And I know they were good because when I thought of them I said to myself, "Oh yeah, that's a great idea!"  Sadly, I remember that it was a great idea. I just can't remember the idea.  Bummer!
